목적 : To report a case of spontaneous resolution of epiretinal membrane(ERM) in a 47-year-old female with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR)
방법 : A 47- year- old female presented with a 1 month history of floater on both eyes. She had 6 years of diabetes and otherwise unremarkable. Her initial best-corrected visual acuity was 20/20 in the right eye and 20/40 in the left eye. Fundus examination revealed ERM and midperipheral neovascularization on the right eye, and vitreous hemorrhage with localized retinal detachment with multiple tears on the left eye. Panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) was applied twice on the right eye and vitrectomy was performed for the left eye.
결과 : ERM spontaneously resolved after 4 months of follow up. She presented with floating sensation newly developed and the final best corrected visual acuity was 20/25 in the right eye.
결론 : Although spontaneous resolution of ERM is very rare, this present case demonstrates a possibility of spontaneous resolution of ERM with release of traction in a patient with PDR.
