목적 : To report a case of development of Ramsay-Hunt syndrome after intravitreal anti-VEGF, and its clinical courses and treatment results
방법 : A 53 year-old male visited our outpatient clinic due to visual disturbance on both eyes started five years ago. He showed proliferative diabetic retinopathy on both eyes, and increased thickness of central macule on left eye. The anti-VEGF was injected intravitreal space, and severe headache and left facial pain developed the day after injection. The skin lesion then developed into vesicle, and the patient was diagnosed as the Ramsay-Hunt syndrome.
결과 : He was treated through consultations to dermatology and otorhinolaryngology. The skin lesion and pain relieved two months later and there were no recurrences and complications.
결론 : Intravitreal bevacizumab is safe and effective as a treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Nevertheless, systemic complications may occur in some cases. The treatment can cause stressful condition that can affect immune system of the patients. Thus, the treatment should be considered with cautiousness, especially patients with systemic disease, immunosuppressant and vascular defects.
