목적 : To investigate the association of the plasma levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and nailfold capillaroscopy, heart rate variability, optic disc hemorrhage, visual field progression in normal tension glaucoma patients.
방법 : Twenty-five patients with NTG were enrolled in this study. Subjects with systemic diseases were excluded. All patients underwent a complete ophthalmic examination and were referred to the rheumatology department, where nailfold capillaroscopy and HRV assessment were performed. Blood samples from all subjects were assayed for MMP-9 concentrations.
결과 : The systemic levels of MMP-9 was significantly associated with the result of nailfold capillaroscopy (ρ = 0.439, p = 0.032). However, there were no significant association with HRV parameters, disc hemorrhage, progression of VF and the levels of systemic MMP-9 levels.
결론 : Systemic MMP-9 levels were associated with the results of nailfold capillaroscopy, whereas HRV parameters, local disc hemorrhage, and progression of glaucomatous visual field.
