목적 : The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes and complications between viscoelastic capture using DisCoVisc and conventional surgical technique for intraocular foreign body(IOFB) removal in patients with IOFB.
방법 : This is a retrospective comparative study comprising 25 eyes who had vitrectomy and IOFB removal. Ten eyes underwent viscoelastic capture using DisCoVisc (group 1), and 15 eyes underwent conventional surgical technique (group 2). Main outcome measures were best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), IOFB size, operating time, intraoperative and postoperative complications with at least 3 months of follow-up.
결과 : Best-corrected visual acuity of both groups at postoperative months 3 was not significantly different (P=0.389). IOFB size of both groups did not show any significant difference (P=0.322). Operating time of group 1 was shorter than that of group 2 (P<0.001). The frequency of IOFB dropping from forceps or magnet was less in group1 than group2 (P=0.011). Furthermore, postoperative complications during at least 3 months was less in group 1 than group 2 (P=0.044).
결론 : Viscoelastic capture using DisCoVisc for IOFB removal appears to be more effective than conventional surgical technique.
