목적 : To evaluate the effect of postural changes on intraocular pressure (IOP) in the silicone oil (SO)-filled eyes.
방법 : Prospective, nonrandomized, comparative case series.Thirty-four eyes of 17 patients with the SO-filled eyes. The IOP was measured using an electronic tonometer (Tono-Pen AVIA; Reichert Inc., NY, USA) in each of the following positions: [sitting (T1) → supine (T2) → 5 minutes after SO-filled eye dependent lateral decubitus position (LDP) (T3) → 30 minutes after SO-filled eye dependent LDP (T4) → re-supine 1 (T5) → 5 minutes after fellow eye dependent LDP (T6) → 30 minutes after fellow eye dependent LDP (T7) → re-supine 2 (T8)]
결과 : The mean IOPs of the SO-filled eyes were higher than that of the fellow eyes in T1,T2,T3,T4,T5 and T8 (all P<0.05). The mean IOP of dependent eye increased significantly at 30 minutes after changing from supine position to both dependent LDP in both eyes (all P<0.05). The mean IOP of dependent eye decreased significantly at 10 minutes after changing from both dependent LDP to the re-supine position in both eyes (all P<0.05). The IOP changes from the supine to LDP and LDP to resupine was larger in the SO-filled eyes than the fellow eyes (P = 0.016, P = 0.012, respectively).
결론 : Postural changes from the supine to the LDP increased the IOP in both SO-filled eyes and the fellow eyes. Furethermore, mean IOP of SO-filled eyes significantly changed more than that of the fellow eyes by postural changes from the supine to the LDP and also in inverse.
