목적 : To report a melanocytoma originated from iris for the first time in Korea.
방법 : A 53-year old women referred to our clinic with iris mass accidentally detected. Slit lamp examination revealed a 2.5 mm x 3.5 mm sized and round iris mass occupying 12 o’clock area of iris in her left eye. The mass was densely pigmented and had smooth surface. Gonioscopy showed the mass reaches to peripheral corneal endothelium frontward, and to the lens backward.
We performed excisional biopsy for diagnosis.
결과 : The histopathologic examination of the specimen revealed a melanocytoma of iris. After the operation, gonioscopic examination showed intact ciliary body behind the surgical margin of iris. The patient has remained free of iris mass after the operation
결론 : A few cases of iris melanocytomas have been reported worldwide but none was reported in Korea. We confirmed a case of a melanocytoma originated from iris.
