| 신생혈관성 나이관련황반변성 환자에서 증가된 혈중 pentraxin3 에 대한 고찰 |

목적 : To evaluate pentraxin3 (PTX3) in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (N-ARMD), and investigate its role as a predictive biomarker.
방법 : Thirty individuals with N-ARMD and thirty controls without N-ARMD were studied. Both case and control groups underwent testing for plasma C-reactive protein (CRP) and PTX3 concentration which was measured a posteriori from frozen samples by using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit.
결과 : The measured PTX3 values for the patients were 1341 ± 625 pg/ml (mean ± SD : standard deviation) while those were 887 ± 478 pg/ml for the controls, which indicated that the plasma PTX3 levels in N-ARMD groups were significantly higher than that in controls. Such increment of the plasma PTX3 levels was in a statistical trusted range (p = 0.003).
결론 : Our data support the role of chronic inflammation in the development of ARMD and show a possibility that PTX3 can be used as a diagnostic biomarker of N-ARMD.
