목적 : To evaluate endothelial damage of cataract surgery in angle-closure glaucoma’s eyes comparedwith the opposite eyes of ACG which had no attack history and normal eyes.
방법 : Eyes with history of acute angle-closure glaucoma, the opposite eyes of angle-closure glaucoma patients(no glaucoma attack history), and normal eyes had cataract extraction by phacoemulsification. Noncontact specular microscopy and contact pachymetry were performed preoperatively and 1 week, 1 and3 months postoperatively
결과 : Eighty-five eyes of 75 patients were enrolled (25angle-closure glaucoma eyes [ACG group];10 opposite eyes of the angle-closure glaucoma eyes [OA (occludable-angle) group];50normal eyes [normal group]). The mean corneal ECD was statistically significantly lower in ACG group than in other groups consistently. But decrease ratio of ECD in ACG group was not significantly greater. All eyes had not been developed corneal edema after 3 months postoperatively. Their central corneal thickness was similar to each other throughout follow-up.
결론 : Phacoemulsification had not made significant endothelial cell loss in ACG group compared with normal and OA groups. History of glaucomatous attack was not risk factor for endothelial decompensation in cataract surgery.
