목적 : To compare the outcomes and complications of 23-gauge (G) and 25-G microincision vitrectomy surgery (MIVS) in cases of idiopathic epiretinal membrane (ERM).
방법 : A total of 239 eyes of 239 patients having undergone 23-G or 25-G transconjunctival vitrectomy at our hospital between March 2010 and March 2013 were included in this retrospective study. All the eyes were divided into 23-G and 25-G vitrectomy (VT) group and to compare visual acuity we divided subgroup into 23-G and 25-G vitrectomy only (VTO) group which underwent 23-G and 25-G MIVS on the pseudophakic eyes. Patients were followed up at 1 day, 1 week, 1, 2 and 6 months, and as needed after surgery.
결과 : Anatomic success was achieved in all eyes except 1 case. Preoperative mean best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and post-operative BCVA changes were not significantly different between 23-G and 25G VTO groups except BCVA of 1 day and 1 week after surgery. (P = 0.015 and P < 0.001, respectively). Postoperative hypotony rate was higher in 23-G VT group than 25-G VT group at 1 day (P < 0.001) and 1 week (P < 0.001).
결론 : Both 23-G and 25-G MIVS have comparable visual and anatomical results for idiopathic ERM. However, 25-G surgery may be associated with faster visual recovery and less postoperative hypotony than 23-G surgery.
