목적 : We aimed to classify open-angle glaucoma (OAG) by the pattern of glaucoma progression using a hierarchical cluster analysis and find the characteristics of progression by comparing between clusters.방법 : Between April 2004 and January 2012, ninety five eyes of 95 OAG patients who have undergone visual field test (Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer) at least once a year for 4 years were retrospectively analyzed. We classified OAG into homogeneous sub-groups by using a hierarchical cluster analysis based on following 5 variables; mean deviation (MD), visual field index (VFI), MD slope (MDS), VFI slope (VFS), and glaucoma progression analysis (GPA). After that, we compared other parameters between clusters.결과 : Two clusters were made after a cluster analysis. Cluster1(67eyes) showed -4.06±2.43 in MD, 92.58±6.27 in VFI, -0.02±0.03 in MDS, -0.04±0.07 in VFS, and all ‘no progression’ in GPA. Cluster2(28eyes) showed -8.68±3.81 in MD, 77.54±12.98 in VFI, -0.06±0.05 in MDS, -0.19±0.16 in VFS, and 4‘possible’ and 7‘likely’ progression in GPA. Between two clusters, there is no significant difference in age, gender, IOP, CCT, AL, and HTN med. However, Cluster2 included more high tension glaucoma patients (p=0.035) and had a greater number of anti-glaucoma eyedrops (p=0.001) compared to Cluster1.결론 : A hierarchical cluster analysis of progression pattern divided OAG patients into fast and slow progression groups by the parameters of glaucomatous progression in visual field test. In fast progression group, the portion of high tension glaucoma was bigger and the number of anti-glaucoma medications was greater than slow progression group. |
