목적 : To compare amounts of corrected angle fo deviation(CAD) between under general anesthesia and after recovery from the anesthesia in esotropia surgery 방법 : A retrospective analysis was conducted in esotropia patients who had undergone surgery under general anesthesia. Angle of deviation was measured by prism cover test in awakened state at one day before the surgery and after the surgery. Under general anesthesia, deviation angle was measured by Hirschberg or Krimsky test in 5PD-scale immediately after induction and at the end of the surgery. The CADs measured ‘in awakened state’ and ‘under general anesthesia’ were compared and analyzed to identify if there is significant difference between them. 결과 : Fifty patients were identified for this study. The median age was 4.0 years and the median preoperative esodeviation angle was 30.0 prism diopters (PD). The median amount of CAD measured under general anesthesia was 30.0PD and it was significantly different compared with that of awakened state at postoperative one day (p=0.001). But, the difference was not identified when compared with that of postoperative one week, one month, and final follow-up examination (p=0.151, 0.091, 0191, respectively). When surgical success was defined as an eso or exodeviation within 8PD, final success rate was 92%결론 : These results suggest that it is desirable to perform surgery considering CAD under general anesthesia regardless of the divergence of eye position under general anesthesia
