| Central Retinal artery occlusion following orbital cellulitis secondary to frontal and ethmoid sinusitis |

|
목적 : To report a case of orbital cellulitis secondary to frontal and ethmoid sinusitis complicated with central retinal artery occlusion
방법 : A 53-year-old male without any other known health problem presented with a 3-day history of progressive right periorbital pain and swelling accompanied by sudden visual loss. The patient was diagnosed with orbital cellulitis following frontal and ethmoid sinusitis on diagnostic imaging.
결과 : Computerized tomography demonstrated the right sided soft tissue density infiltrate around the medial and superior rectus muscles with subperiosteal abscess and left frontal and ethmoid sinusitis. Ophthalmoscopic examination revealed the right retinal whitening at the posterior pole without typical cherry red spot at the macula but the fluorescein angiogram demonstrated central retinal artery occlusion. Full blood count revealed only an increase in neutrophils and monocytes and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate returning to normal after the intravenous antibiotics treatment.
결론 : We report a case of mild space-occupying orbital cellulitis secondary to frontal and ethmoid sinusitis rarely complicated with central retinal artery occlusion.
