목적 : To evaluate the relationship between fatty infiltration in the levator muscle, aponeurosis and the levator function and surgical outcome
방법 : Medical records were reviewed for all patients who underwent levator resection at the Kim's Eye Hospital from January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2012. Measurements were levator function test, ptosis correction, presence of transverse ligament and fatty infiltration in the levator muscle and aponeurosis
결과 : A total of 86 eyes were reviewed and 22 eyes had no fatty infiltration (Group A), 44 eyes had fatty infiltration in the levator muscle (Group B) and 20 eyes had fatty infiltration in both (Group C). 32 eyes that had good levator function were consisted of 13 eyes (group A), 16 eyes (group B) and 3 eyes group C. 46 eyes had fair levator function and were consisted of 10 eyes (group A), 23 eyes (group B), 13 eyes (group C). 8 eyes had poor levator function and were consisted of 4 eyes (group B) and 4 eyes (group C).
결론 : Fair levator function can be seen in cases were fatty infiltration cannot be seen in the levator muscle and aponeurosis, and good levator function can be seen in cases of fatty infiltration in the levator muscle or aponeurosis. In other words, the levator function and fatty infiltration in the levator muscle and aponeurosis does not correspond.
