목적 : To evaluate the 4 year results of all patients receiving laser treatment for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) at a single institution
방법 : All infants who had ROP screening at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Seoul, Korea, between January 2009 and December 2012 were prospectively recorded. The medical records of laser-treated babies were retrospectively reviewed. Birthweight, gestational age at birth, timing of laser treatment, and ROP severity at treatment were investigated. Anatomic outcome and refractive error at 1 year of corrected age were evaluated.
결과 : Among 453 babies screened for ROP, a total of 99 eyes in 50 babies (11.0 %) were treated with laser photocoagulation. Their mean gestational age at birth was 27.1 weeks and the mean birthweight was 1.03 kg. A total of 85.8% of treated eyes responded with complete regression of ROP after laser photocoagulation only. 11 eyes of 6 babies required additional laser photocoagulation and 3 eyes of 2 babies received intravitreal anti-VEGF injection. 93 eyes (93.9%) showed successful anatomical results. Postoperative refractive errors at mean age of 14.54 months ranged between -12 D and +4.5D.
결론 : Laser photocoagulation for ROP in our infants resulted in effective regression of threshold ROP. Anatomical, visual and refractive outcomes following laser photocoagulation for ROP were favorable.
