목적 : Rubeosis iridis is usually secondary to posterior segment ischemia. However, limited data are available about the recent causes of rubeosis iridis in Korean patients. This study aimed to estimate the causes of rubeosis iridis in Korea.
방법 : A retrospective review of 380 Korean patients with rubeosis iridis visited Kim’s eye hospital between January 2010 to October 2012 was obtained. All cases were reviewed for the causes of the disease and their demographic data. We estimated their visual acuity change among the patients who were observed between one and two years from diagnosis.
결과 : The most common cause associated with rubeosis iridis was diabetic retinopathy (n=228, 60.0%), followed by retinal vein obstruction (n=73, 19.2%). Other causes included ocular ischemia syndrome, retinal detachment, uveitis, and endophthalmitis. At the time of diagnosis, mean intraocular pressure (IOP) was 37.0 mmHg and median visual acuity was finger count (FC). One year after diagnosis, mean IOP was 23.4 mmHg and median visual acuity was hand motion (HM).
결론 : Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of rubeosis iridis in Kim’s eye hospital in South Korea. Rubeosis iridis with diabetic retinopathy was more than known before.
