목적 : To evaluate the relationship between the cantho-limbal distance and degree of head turn in Korean.
방법 : Thirty patients who do not have strabismus or nystagmus were enrolled. The distance between the lateral canthus and lateral corneal limbus was measured in 5 mm scale and the degree of head turn when the cantho-limbal distance were 0mm, 5mm and 10mm were measured by goniometer. The degree of head turn was measured 3 times and the mean value was chosen as the degree of head turn.
결과 : If the cantho-limbal distance were 0mm, 5mm and 10mm, the degree of head turn were 34˚, 22.3˚ and 4.2˚. The shorter the cantho-limbal distance, the greater the degree of head turn, and it was statistically significant (r=-0.913, p<0.01).
결론 : Cantho-limbal distance can be used to estimate the degree of head turn and it would be more simple and easier than check the degree of head turn by goniometer in clinical situation.
