목적 : To describe a patients with congenital orbital fibroepithelial polyp (FEP) arising from the lateral canthal area 방법 : A 23-months-old girl was referred with a protruding orbital mass at lateral canthus of her right eye. The mass had been present at her birth and according to her parents, had not increased in size. We found that the mass was small (about 0.7cm in diameter), round, and yellow-colored, and had a hard texture with a polypoidal shape. 결과 : The mass was diagnosed as an epidermoid cyst and was excised through anterior orbitotomy under general anesthesia. During the surgery we observed a stalk connecting the mass to orbital tissue at lateral canthus. A tissue sample, about 1.5 cm in length, was sent for histopathologic examination, which revealed that the mass was a FEP. 결론 : To our knowledge, this is the first report of a FEP arising from the orbital area, particularly from the lateral canthus lesion. This congenital FEP was completely excised through an anterior orbitotomy without any complications, with no evidence of recurrence after 25 months.
